Hawaii, the Big Island, is like Pandora's Box. You can find almost any climate region on earth here as well as extras, like green sand beaches, lava, and superlative star-gazing. This is home for architects McKeague and Simpson.
McKeague, a native, offers paramount sensitivity to designing for the island's climate and intermixing with the modest sensibilities of Hawaiian architecture. At the same time, he gives to Hawaii the taste of progressive designs through his unique approach that braids a client with landscape and building.
Simpson, from the "mainland," completes this youthful, yet experienced duo, to the advantage of those looking for a designer schooled in alternative building material. Not only does she design projects sensitive to the island's cultural and social needs, Simpson has pioneered her own designs for bamboo structures. Her work with bamboo mimics the island's call for meshing nature and man.
